About this opportunity
You will play a vital role by providing ongoing companionship and social inclusion to Tommy and thereby reduce the effects of loneliness and isolation. You will also make an amazing, new friend! Tommy is a 39 year old man with an intellectual disability who lives in a group home. Tommy is a polite and sociable man who enjoys movies, exercising, social events and going for coffee. Tommy would love to have a mate who is available for fortnightly outings, usually on weekends. Outings will be discussed to ensure they are Covid safe and in line with current restrictions. No previous experience is required. Competencies include a warm and caring attitude as well as empathy, good communication skills and a genuine desire to make a difference. Reliability and a willingness to commit to very regular contact for a minimum of 12 months is a requirement.

NDIS Worker Screening Check and statutory declaration.

Attendance at an interview with coordinator.
All applicants must be over 18 years of age.
Fortnightly outings for 2-3 hours on weekends or weekdays as arranged by mutual agreement between volunteer and buddy.Type of work
