Catering Assistant

Emergency Response Regular - more than 6 months Across: Malaga WA, Spearwood WA

About this opportunity

Catering assistants prepare meals, snacks and beverages 24/7 in mobile kitchens onsite at emergencies, or in SAES Malaga depot to support the team in the field. Involves all aspects of catering and food hygiene, kitchen clean up.

May receive training pre-season at the depot or on the job. Mobile shifts usually 6 hours on call. No experience or qualifications required, simply a desire to serve and work as part of a harmonious team. Will work under direct of shift lead and/or Team Leader. Kitchen uniform, gloves, hairnets and aprons supplied.

Key Tasks

Prepare food. Cook food. Serve food. Clean kitchen, dishes and floors. Stock kitchens. Maintain clean snack areas outside of truck. Other tasks as may be required.

The Salvation Army provide meals and refreshments to our emergency services crews as they protect our communities. We are on call 24/7 during fire season. Time Required

Monthly rosters per requirements, more availability required during the Threat Season (October to April). Call-out 24/7. 6 hour rosters 0500, 1100, 1700, 2300. Double shifts discouraged.
