About this opportunity
Paint the Swan REaD is a early literacy initiative that ensures children are ready to go to school. This is done by concentrating on early literacy by having children’s books available in places where parents and kids gather. It encourages parents/caregivers to read, talk, sing, play and rhyme from birth.
We are looking for a new mascot to dress up as our mascot to help us spread the word about the importance of early literacy. You will:
• Dress up as our mascot • The mascot will need to don the kangaroo suit and the sidekick will help him get around and read stories to children. • Be the face of Paint The Swan REaD!
NB: Please be advised that the Kangaroo suit is very hot to wear, however all precautions will be taken to ensure your comfort.
Additional requirements
National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
Someone who is confident to dress up in a BIG costume!
Interested in helping the committee to spread the message of the importance of early literacy
Please note the cost of the Police Check and WWC is not covered by the organisation.
The times/days would be variable Once we have finalised recruitment, we will be able to let childcare, libraries, playgroups etc know they are available.
