About this opportunity

The Boronia and The Basin Community News began in 1994, and publishes and distributes a monthly newspaper to 12,300 premises. The paper has always been run by Volunteers. There is a Committee of Management with 10 members, and over 150 other Volunteers. Some of these Volunteers are Drivers who collect the papers and deliver them to the Walkers, who then deliver them to homes and other premises. This occurs monthly except for January. The paper is funded through paid advertising, and the occasional local government small grant. The Committee of Management meets monthly at The Basin Community Hall (except for January).

The role of Distribution Manager is voluntary and represents a key function for the paper. Main Duties:  Maintain up to date list of Walkers and Deliverers, and numbers of papers required.  Attend the delivery of the papers each month at The Basin Community Hall, organise into lots and oversee the collection by the Drivers.  Prepare distribution lists for Drivers  Liaise with Walkers and arranging coverage for those absent.  Report to monthly Committee Meeting. Qualification, Experience  Basic knowledge of Word and Excel.  Enthusiasm for volunteering.
