This Home Detention Integrated Support Services Program (HISSP) Keep in Touch (KIT) volunteer position requires a person with:
- strong communication skills
- a confident phone presence
- strong attention to detail
Duties will include phone contact with HISSSP clients & administrative duties.
Responsibilities include:
- Making telephone calls in line with provided weekly call list.
- Enter information into the internal data base in an accurate and timely manner.
- Keep accurate records of all interactions and attempted interactions as directed.
- Alert KIT Coordinator or HISSP Team Manager of clients requiring additional support.
- Any other duties as directed by the KIT Coordinator or HISSP Manager.
Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *.

* Have empathy for people experiencing isolation, marginalisation and stigma associated with their offending history.
* Written and verbal communication skills.
* A strong ability to utilise verbal communication over the phone.
* Treat clients and colleagues in a respectful and supportive manner.
* Empathise with disadvantaged people in general
* Ideally an understanding of community, personal and/or social issues that affect those who have offended.
* Ability to work in a busy office environment.
* To use initiative, discretion and judgement in carrying out duties.
* Have an appreciation of and commitment to responding positively to people from a range of cultures, social backgrounds and disadvantages.
* Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills.
* Interact with clients with challenging behaviors.
* Ability to maintain client confidentiality and signing a Confidentiality Agreement.
* Be detail oriented and have highly developed organisational skills.
Ideally you will have experience in:
* administrative tasks
* data input.
* a phone oriented role.
Completion of a satisfactory Police check is required.
OARS requires all staff and volunteers to be double vaccinated and boosters complete.
