About this opportunity
We are seeking a volunteer with a passion for gardening to maintain our community garden and vegetable beds. Knowledge of gardening and plant & vegetable requirements and maintenance is desired.
Main Responsibilities
• Garden maintenance – including watering, weeding, sweeping/raking, dead heading/pruning, tidying paths • Planting, maintaining and harvesting seasonal vegetables • Pruning plants as required • Watering garden • Keeping paths and grounds of the garden free from garden debris • Weeding • Some digging may be required • Garden tools and equipment supplied by Orana • Clean cobwebs from eaves of house • Other garden duties as required • Working with other volunteers
Required Skills
• Gardening experience & plant knowledge • Experience in safe use of garden tools • Good knowledge of safe working requirements • The ability to work safely with limited supervision
Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
6 to 15 hours per week. Flexible.
