Urgent - Greek speaking volunteers needed for isolated elderly residents

About this opportunity

Volunteer Visitors are needed to visit socially and culturally isolated Greek residents in Aged Care Homes located in the City of Monash. We need people over 18 years of age who love to chat, are patient and enjoy the company of older people with a Greek background. These positions are very rewarding.
The following skills are highly desirable in a volunteer visitor:

• Must be able to converse in Greek
• A genuine empathy and understanding of older people
• Good communication and listening skills
• The ability to work independently
• A commitment to developing a strong relationship with an older person and the ACVVS program
• Willingness to act with integrity, respect, confidentiality and dignity and the ability to be flexible Can you give 1 hour per fortnight to visit a socially isolated resident?

Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination . Flu vaccination . National Police Certificate ^*.

Mandatory training as required
At least 2 covid vaccinations and yearly flu shot

Time Required

at least twice a month for 30 minutes to an hour ongoing
