Activity Assistant Volunteers
About this opportunity
Volunteers will support participants with intellectual and physical disabilities. You will support participants and staff with a range of activities throughout the day including arts and crafts, carpentry, swimming, literacy, computer skills, sports, gym, exercising, dancing, basketball, yoga, walking, theatre group, choir, money skills, using public transport, gardening, cooking, barbecues, bowling, fishing and mentoring and many others.
This involves: • Welcoming participants • Encouraging them • Including them • Helping participants to build confidence • Observing their well-being and safety • Following the example and direction of supervising staff • Entering enthusiastically into the day’s activities • Reporting any questions or concerns to staff
You will be directed by The Bridge staff as needed. This is a regular weekly weekday role.
