Retail/Shop Assistant
About this opportunity
AYLA Inc. is seeking a reliable Retail/Shop Assistant to volunteer for their op shop in DION Charity Marketplace, one of our social enterprises to raise funds for individuals and families in need. This position will assist AYLA Inc. to continue operating their 7 day a week Foodbank, as well as their LGBTQIA+ Youth Accommodation.
This would suit anyone looking at working in retail, refreshing their skills to re-join the workforce or an experienced retail assistant who has some time to volunteer. All volunteers receive the opportunity to give back to the community in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Key Tasks
*Greet customers and assist them with enquiries, complaints and problems. *Hang sorted and priced clothing according to colour blocking, ensure clothing are on correct racks, remove unsuitable items and check all items are on correct hangers. *Tidy and place shoes, handbags, jewellery etc. correctly and visually appealing. *Sweep/dust/mop areas to ensure the shop is clean. *Tidy toy and bric-a-brac area.

National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
Prefer commitment of one shift per week. Shifts are Monday to Saturday: Morning 8.30am - 12.30pm and Afternoon: 12.30pm to 5pm. Sunday: Morning shift 10.30am - 1.30pm. Afternoon shift - 1.30pm - 5pm.
