Volunteer at Pinkies Cafe, Kurri Kurri Hospital

Health Regular - more than 6 months Kurri Kurri NSW

About this opportunity

Kurri Kurri Hospital is set high on the hill off Hospital Road and is the Lower Hunter Sector rehabilitation specialist. The hospital also provides an Emergency Department, Day Surgery, Day Care (Respite) and Medical Services to patients from Kurri Kurri and surrounds.

With such a busy workload and no nearby shop the volunteers offer a convenient cafe amongst their many services to help staff and visitors alike. We need at least two people per day to make sure its opened as much as possible.

You must be willing to have annual influenza vaccinations and have a minimum of 3 COVID vaccinations to keep you safe and ensure our staff and patients are safe. A private meeting with staff health will be arranged to give you all the requirements.

if you'd like to help bring the kiosk to life at 'Pinkies Cafe' you could work as little as one day a week but you'd be making a huge difference to the people who work onsite, visit patients or work nearby at the Masonic Centre.

Volunteers can also provide patient care services when suitable. This is currently an evolving situation but can help you gain an understanding of the health system if that's where you'd like to find future work placement.

For more information contact the Volunteer and Community Participation Coordinator.
