About this opportunity
People playing or walking on the dunes disturb the plants and can destroy them. This in turn de-stabilises the sand dunes and destroys habitat. It also weakens the natural barrier against the stormy seas. There is a lot of pressure on this environment from local residents and our many visitors. Volunteers can assist enormously by helping to maintain the coastal environment - some activities include revegetating, fencing, maintaining tracks, monitoring plantings and beautification projects. and assisting during Clean Up Australia Day.
