About Sunshine Butterflies Inc
Sunshine Butterflies is a non government funded, not for profit, registered charity that exists to provide information, support, resources and programs to individuals of all ages and abilities as well as their families, in a safe and happy environment.
Sunshine Butterflies strives to improve all areas in the lives of people with disabilities in the south east region of Queensland and beyond.
Sunshine Butterflies provides individuals and families with parent/carer support, information and individual assistance, swim, social and recreational opportunities, early intervention programs, post school recreational programs, respite and personal fundraising plans.
Sunshine Butterflies operates from their 5 acre property located in the Noosa Countryside called 'Our Backyard'. Our Backyard is a community hub for individuals living with disability and their families to access support, assistance, advice and programs from one location. The Our Backyard facility continues to create multiple long term partnerships with local and surrounding communities groups, sharing, connecting and encouraging an inclusive space for all.
To be eligible to become a Volunteer at Sunshine Butterflies, all volunteers must:
• Be 16 years or older (anyone under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian)
• Complete a Working with Children Check and Yellow card application
• Commit to a minimum of six months service and a minimum of 3 hours a fortnight
• Sign and agree to our Agreement/Code of Conduct
• Volunteer according to Sunshine Butterflies values, mission and ethos
• Keep us updated with any changes in availability or your contact details
• Once you have applied for a volunteer position, our Volunteer Coordinator will contact shortlisted volunteers to arrange an interview.
• If you are unsuccessful in your application, you will be notified by our team via email, mail or phone.
• If there is not a suitable position available, please continue to check our website as positions are updated regularly.
