About Advocacy for Oromia Association in Victoria

Advocacy for Oromia is a self-help group established to improve the settlement process and advance the wellbeing of Australian-Oromos. It was established in 2014 with the purpose of enabling and empowering Oromo people by providing accurate and timely information that will help to make better choices to create the kind of future in which they wish to live. It maximises participation in decision making, based on the policies and procedures governing the activities of the group.

Through community education, direct support, capacity building and advocacy, Advocacy for Oromia work towards the realisation on of their vision; a world where all people are empowered to manage problems and to create opportunity for themselves and others.
