About The MindStorm Foundation

The MindStorm Foundation is an independant not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers in regional Australia, designed specifically to provide practical and relevant crisis and trauma support services to children and their families following the accidental death of a child.

Every year hundreds of children are killed in accidents all across Australia. These sudden and unexpected tragedies have a devastating effect on families, particularly the brothers and sisters. Families require a diverse range of specialised support in these difficult situations and currently no such organisation exists within Australia. The MindStorm is looking to fill the huge gap in available support services for these struggling families.

A key objective of The MindStorm Foundation is to empower children and their families by providing ongoing specialsied support programs designed to strengthen the family unit. These targeted programs would not just provide counselling but also guide children through coping techniques, resilience and grief.

We are currently working with a panel of experts to launch M-power, a program to connect, empower and strengthen children struggling with the reality of the unexpected death of a sibling. A safe and fun place where these children can meet other families in similar life-altering situations, overcome feelings of anger, loneliness and confusion and leave feeling equipped to face the world again.
