HADS Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital

The Alcohol & Drug Service provides a 16 bed inpatient unit providing acute care and medicated withdrawal management or stabilisation for people who are dependent on alcohol, sedatives, hypnotics, opiate and other psychoactive drugs. There are approximately 1,200 admissions per annum. The inpatient unit provides a state-wide service for treatment to individuals who are likely to experience a moderate to severe withdrawal syndrome when ceasing use of alcohol or other drugs of dependence.
