About Coffs Regional Community Gardens Association, Inc

The Coffs Regional Community Gardens Association, Inc (CRCGA) is a not-for-profit association of dedicated, friendly, and community-minded volunteers. Our members are local residents from a wide cross-section of the community with a passion for local food, sustainable living, and social inclusion. We aim to:

• Establish & maintain sustainable community gardens throughout our region;
• Develop community knowledge & practical skills around local food;
• Raise awareness of the benefits of home gardening, organic food & self-sufficiency and healthy eating;
• Foster opportunities for community engagement & cultural exchange;
• Develop strong partnerships with other community organisations; and
• Showcase sustainable living solutions.

The Garden consists of established 24 individual and organisation plots which are maintained by the respective plot lease-holders. It also has communal mandala gardens, nursery, edible forests, worm farms, a woodfire pizza oven, waterways, a state-of-the-art Aquaponics system, a compost toilet, and compost heaps.

The Garden's main working bee is on Sundays from 9 to 5 pm (on summer days).

The Management Committee is comprised of the President, the Vice President, the Treasurer, and the Secretary, and supported by 2 Ordinary Committee Members, all of who are duly elected volunteer members from the CRCG Association. The Committee provides oversight of the Garden’s priority activities and future plans.

In partnership with Coffs Harbour City Council, the Garden also hosts free monthly educational workshops on sustainable gardening and healthy living practices for the Coffs community and surrounds, under the banner of the Living Lightly Program.
