If you’ve ever considered Volunteering, EPC might be the place for you. We are needing volunteers who speak Chinese Mandarin, Cantonese, Greek to help translate for our volunteers who are working on a biography with a client and English is not their first language. Volunteering at EPC provides opportunities to enhance leadership skills, network with others, be active in your local community and change the day of somebody living with a terminal or life-limiting illness.

Join the Cloud Nine team and help some of the most vulnerable people in our community shine! It can be very hard for people living with terminal illness to take care of the little things we all take for granted: like finding time and feeling well enough to get a haircut. Something as simple as looking well-groomed can make people in this situation feel more like their 'normal' self, and contribute to a sense of wellbeing and reduction in anxiety.

Dogs bring joy and their own special brand of beauty into a home. They are a key support for a many people - but sometimes people with terminal illness find they are too tired to be able to care for their dog in the way they used to. That's where EPC's Palliative Paws program can help. Our volunteers visit a client in their home, once a week, to walk their dog - relieving stress and helping clients to stay at home with their pets for as long as possible - and keeping dogs healthy.

Our community palliative care volunteers bring normality and a piece of the community into the homes of people living with terminal illness in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, who might be isolated, or just want to chat about something other than health for a while. They are there for respite, companionship, sharing a hobby or meeting out for coffee.

Join Eastern Palliative Care's award-winning volunteer biography team! We are looking for people with typing & editing skills to make a real community impact: helping people who are enduring serious life-limiting illness, to tell their story. Biography volunteers offer the space to reflect on life, and a means to leave tributes or special messages for family. We have helped over 1,700 people in this way and our volunteers tell us they get far more from this work than they give.
