The National Trust of Australia (Victoria) are seeking a Volunteers to assist in or BigCcat Project within our Collections Team. The Big Ccat Project is an online community cataloguing program designed to harness community expertise and skillsets, contribute to a sense of belonging and well-being in volunteers, and to enable community access to collections via cataloguing and publishing online. Now is your chance to join our passionate team of volunteers.

If you enjoy engaging with primary school children and have a knack for storytelling, we would love to have you as part of our Museum Schools Team. You will be working with a small team in a supervised, supported environment. You don’t need to be a teacher – a delight in talking with kids is the main skill we are seeking. Our Schools Team lead school activities in the Museum, as well as running off-site programs through our History on the Move trailer. Volunteers must be vaccinated.

Volunteers will help with ensuring that the BVHS Collection is managed and conserved in accordance with National Standards for Australian Museums and Galleries. The aim is to maintain the physical & electronic collection registers of Photographs and Objects within the museum and the machinery shed. We are gifted many items which need to be recorded so that they can be readily accessible when enquiries are made and when displays/exhibitions are being planned.

We require a mature, experienced, business oriented and skilled grant writer and fundraiser to assist the museum with writing and submitting grant applications. Will also be required to source quotes, funding and grant opportunities and give advice and guidance to the committee.
