Make a Difference

About Make a Difference

Make a Difference
We aim to level the playing field for children and young people at a disadvantage in relation to their peers.

Make a Difference is a small charity. We rely heavily on our Board members and volunteers and Board members personally meet with every client to assess their needs and decide the best way to help.
We are directly connected with the people we help.

We have very low overheads and expenses, for example, no paid for office space.

Make a Difference becomes involved only when there are NO other avenues of help available. In that sense, we are a `charity of last resort`. We receive referrals from schools or other charities when the need is beyond their resources.

MissionStatement:
Make a Difference exists to level the playing field for
children and young people at a disadvantage in relation to their
peers

We operate primarily in South West Sydney and focus on three main groups of children and young people:

Those whose families are in serious financial difficulty due to crises such as major illness, circumstances of tragedy or loss, or domestic violence
Those who have a parent who has a mental illness that is having an impact on the well-being of their family
Those still in primary school who have experienced multiple long suspensions from school
