Active Communities Together Program Volunteer
About this opportunity
Connect with seniors in regional Coffs Harbour through engagement, connection and lasting relationships in community driven activities that enhance social, emotional, mental and economic wellbeing.
Active Communities Together (ACT) Program volunteers will:
connect with seniors through initial and repeated door to door visits and community events
provide information and connect to services that provide support in reducing the cost of living
provide information about upcoming activities that engage people and reduce social isolation
survey participants
support connection and engagement in community gardening, walking groups, board game activities etc
ACT Program Volunteers will need:
A friendly approach with ability to connect with others
Good communication skills with the ability to share information and maintain confidentiality
Respect the individuality of seniors treating them in a caring, non-judgmental and respectful manner
Ability to follow instructions, actively encourage and support all forms of participation
Basic tech skills required to navigate google forms on mobile phone
Support Mission Australia purpose and values and work in accordance with policies and procedures
Additional requirements
National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
One or two shifts per week (each 4 hours) in additional to monthly catered collaboration, debrief and training meetings
