Community Engagement Officer

About this opportunity

• Engage with Australian First Nations people to ensure they are satisfied with how their stories are presented and to discuss any changes they might wish to make before publication in the book, ensuring cultural protocols are respected.
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and project managers to bring these narratives to the written form accurately and respectfully.
• Assist in the research and verification of historical details pertinent to each veteran's story.
• Provide insights into cultural nuances to ensure the book's content is authentic and sensitive to the contributors' heritage.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for effective storytelling.
• Support the project's administrative tasks, including scheduling interviews, transcribing conversations, and maintaining records.

Time Required

Approximately 4 hours a week.
