We provide pop-up hairdressing/barber services at some of WA’s leading community service organisations, such as, St Barts, 55 Central, Vinnies WA – Passages Engagement Hub and Uniting WA – Tranby Engagement Hub. These organisations provide homelessness services, such as drop-in service hubs or transitional housing to people experiencing homelessness in our community.
We attend on a Monday or Tuesday for 2-hour sessions, either in the morning or afternoon on a monthly or 6 weekly basis at each of these locations.
What does the role do?
The Operations Coordinator (Service Facilitators) plays an important role in coordinating our Service Facilitator volunteers which includes rostering, being a buddy for new facilitators, checking supplies / ordering replacement products in our service kits and dealing with queries from our Service Facilitator team.
What do we need from you?
- Have good communication and organisational skills
- Have an outgoing and friendly personality
- Be available for two hours on a Monday or Tuesday, at least once a month
- Be available once-a-week on a Monday evening for WA Operations Team Meeting

What support do you get?
The Short Back and Sidewalks team will deliver an induction so you can learn more about what we do and how we do it. On your first service, you will receive a free SBSW T Shirt and be allocated a buddy who is an experienced volunteer to orient you at your first service location and to help you on your volunteering journey. Our WA Operations Coordinators are regularly in contact with you, to answer any questions you have and to work with your availability.
