Welcoming Community Dinners Volunteer Coordinator
About this opportunity
We are looking for volunteers to help us run monthly Welcoming Community Dinners – originally a Welcoming Australia initiative, now delivered in collaboration with the City of PAE. Welcoming Community Dinners are a great opportunity for our community members to meet new friends, support newcomers and share in food, fun and friendship!
Responsibilities include:
- Provide a safe and welcoming space and activities for new members of the community
- Create an environment that is inclusive of all cultures, beliefs and backgrounds
- Ensure attendees feel welcome and opportunities for social connection
- Assist with the set up and pack up
- Assist with the planning and coordinating of the event
- Organise and implement activities, cultural themes, cooking demonstrations etc.
- Communicate with team members regarding availability

*Please note:
* As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Voluntary Workers Personal Accident Insurance).
* Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.
Every second Wednesday of the month from 5:00pm-9:30pm plus 5-10 hours in between events for planning and organising.
