About Narryna Heritage House

Narryna House was built 1835-40 as a house for a merchant. Dr. (later Sir) William Crowther leased Narryna from the State Government in1957 to be preserved as a Museum.
Narrrynas' landmark setting at the entrance to Battery Point, and its association with Hobart's foundation around Sullivans Cove, New Wharf (later Salamanca) and Battery Point; along with a list of individually significant occupants, make it an ideal place for education, community service and memory and a tourist destination.
