About this opportunity
Vinnies shops raise money to help people who can’t afford the basics. But there’s another benefit. The items we sell are donated, so this means we’re extending the life of garments, aiding circular fashion and helping the planet as well. This year through our shops in Canberra we diverted 3,000 tons of clothing from local landfills.
You can see how the Vinnies magic happens when you are volunteering with us. Each of our centres is a shop-family, with all volunteer roles designed so that each worker gets the most from what they are doing. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to apply with shifts available weekdays and at weekends. For some of our shops shifts are available in the evening as well, which means we even have positions for people who are working during the day.
We have centres close to the city, in our suburbs, in the country and at the coast and we specialise in finding the right job in our shops to suit your strengths. All training is provided by our professional managers and supportive staff. Our beautiful volunteers are there to back you up and welcome you as well.

Vinnies Volunteer Application Form; Vinnies Volunteer Assignment Agreement; Vinnies Code of Conduct; Volunteer Induction; Working with Children Check (WCC) desirable.
We need to have reasonable confidence that members, volunteers and employees, particularly those who have access to vulnerable persons we are assisting, are of suitable character and do not expose these persons to unacceptable risk. Therefore, volunteers may be required to obtain a WWCC.
