Aged Care Volunteer Visitor's Scheme (South West Region)
About this opportunity
Volunteers support socially isolated seniors in Aged Care Facilities or in their homes, visiting the participant for one hour per fortnight. Volunteers undertake activities that are appropriate to the participant group. This may include listening to music, playing cards or board games, reminiscing or simply having a chat. Volunteers maintain regular communication with Red Cross ACVVS coordinator to discuss your visits and any concerns that may arise. Volunteers will have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world's largest humanitarian network. COVID-19 vaccination proof required.
Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . Driver's Licence (C) . National Police Certificate *.
Show empathy for the mature aged, disadvantaged and socially isolated clients.
At ease working independently or as part of a team.
Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds.
A commitment to visit for a minimum of one year.
COVID-19 Vaccination proof required.
1h per week. This is preferred commitment. If this is not possible 1 hour per fortnight
