About City of Parramatta Council
City of Parramatta Council's Home Support and Community Services Team provides services for:
- older people
- adults living with a disability
- carers of these people
Services includes:
- Social Inclusions (one-on-one social support and group activities for frail older person, adults with a disability and carers of these people)
- Meals on Wheels
- Over 55's Leisure and Learning
The services are funded by City of Parramatta Council, the Australian Government and NSW State Government (HACC).
We currently have 20 staff and approximately 110 volunteers as part of our team.
Volunteers are supported with training, travel reimbursements, and ongoing supervision and support. There are opportunities to mix with other volunteers throughout the year and be a part of a valued team.
Bushcare Volunteering
Bushcare is a volunteer-based, environmental conservation program coordinated and supported by the City of Parramatta. Bushcare volunteers care for their local bushland reserve by removing weeds, restoring habitat for native animals, and planting trees.
