Transport Volunteer - Northern/Western/North Western Suburbs

About this opportunity

The role of Volunteers is to provide mentor support to prisoners and offenders in the community by driving them to medical appointments, job interviews & job network agencies, rehabilitation programs, supervision appointments and housing appointments.

This role is rewarding and important for the reintegration of prisoners back into the community, supporting stable home lives and contributing to the lower rates of re-offending and social isolation.

Government vehicles will be provided for volunteers to use in this role.

We are seeking volunteers from Northern, Western, Southern and North West suburbs of Adelaide.


Additional requirements

Driver's Licence (C) . National Police Certificate *.

*As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Voluntary Workers Personal Accident Insurance).
*Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.

Time Required

Volunteers should be able to make a regular commitment of a minimum of 5 hours per week. Some activities may be scheduled at short notice and volunteers with flexibility to accommodate this are especially needed. This role is available throughout the week, weekend, evenings and public holidays.
