Universal Kingdom: Prehistoric Nights

Arts & Culture One off - an event Adelaide SA

About this opportunity

Universal Kingdom: Prehistoric Nights at Adelaide Zoo is an evening event running through winter as part of Illuminate Adelaide. It incorporates puppetry and large-scale installations to create a wild night like no other.

The event will run every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6.30pm - 9.30pm from 4-21 July.

We are looking for special event volunteers to join us to assist in creating an outstanding experience for our visitors. Zoos SA is a not-for-profit charity organisation which relies on essential volunteer involvement to continue our conservation work and connect people with nature.

The main role of an event volunteer will be visitor engagement. You will be positioned throughout the zoo in a range of roles. This includes, but is not limited to; greeting visitors, answering questions, providing directions, explaining the displays and installations, and roaming the zoo to interact with visitors.

All event volunteers will receive training prior to start of this event, both in-person and online.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Enjoy talking to people and answering questions
  • Be confident and outgoing
  • Display a high level of customer service
  • Be confident in speaking to the general public, both one-on-one and in small groups
  • Be organised and reliable
  • Have the ability to adapt to a new environment quickly
  • Reflect the Zoos SA values

Universal Kingdom is accessible event. All volunteers will receive training as part of the on boarding process. However, experience with or understanding of initiatives like Hidden Disabilities Sunflower will be advantageous.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to see your application!
