About this opportunity

About the Baysie Rollers:

The Baysie Rollers are Bayswater's local Town Team.

Established in 2015, we are a not-for-profit registered association made up of local volunteers focused on connecting the community and activating the Bayswater Town Centre.

Since our inception, we have delivered over 40 different initiatives and events, bringing tens of thousands of people together. Some of our key achievements include the 2019 Baysie Arts & Street Fest, the establishment of the Laneway Art Space, the Bert Wright Park Community Garden, Baysie Loves Bikes, and so many more.

The Baysie Rollers are driven by a dedicated core committee, and supported by a network of event volunteers. We also collaborate with other community groups, local businesses, local government, development groups and residents to bring our projects and events to life.

About the Treasurer position:

The Baysie Rollers Treasurer will manage our finances and cashflow, and along with the other committee members, help to coordinate and deliver events and placemaking projects to make Baysie better.

As a core committee position, you will be invited to attend all committee meetings (1-2 hours every 4-6 weeks).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Issue receipts for all moneys paid to or received by the Association, in the name of the Association.
  • Make payments as directed by the committee
  • Sign all cheques, and ensure that all cheques are also signed by other committee members.
  • Keep the Association's accounting records
  • Submit a financial report annually at the Association's AGM.

Ideally you will have relevant knowledge and/or experience in accounting and finance.

We are looking for someone who is organised, enthusiastic, and most importantly, loves Bayswater as much as we do!

This is a great opportunity to volunteer with one of the original Town Teams in the lead-up to our 10-year anniversary. We've accomplished a lot in that time, and have big dreams for the future too! Come and help us make Bayswater an even better place to live, work and play.
