If you’re living, working or studying in Bayswater, Bedford, Embleton, Maylands, Morley, Noranda, Dianella or Mount Lawley The Bayswater Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is looking for new members with fresh ideas!

Volunteers are needed to offer mentoring and tutoring support to children from refugee backgrounds at their schools. Refugee children often feel isolated and anxious and subsequently withdraw from classroom participation 3 hours per week.

As a Local Coordinator, you will provide additional support to a High School Exchange student from overseas who is living with a host family and attending High School in the Australind WA local community. A Local Coordinator must live within 2 hours of where a student is living. If you are interested in other cultures, young people and families, this role is perfect for you. You may have been an exchange student or host family yourself - but that is not a requirement.
