Volunteers are required for transporting of Young People and Children in care. Transporting will include from the Blair Athol DCP office to other Family contact locations, eg schools and libraries. Transporting of the children is with use of government vehicles.

Victor Harbor Sea Scouts is a family focused Scout group with programs full of fun, friendship, new skills and adventure. Scouts take part in a variety of outdoor activities, from traditional scouting skills such as camping, bush craft, through to more extreme challenges such as abseiling, overnight hikes, canoeing, rock climbing, and even flying. We are currently seeking people who enjoy the outdoors, like learning new skills and enjoy helping young people, to join us as Sea Scout Leaders.

Would you like to be involved in: Learning Assistance Program (LAP) - Mentoring, to support students in all areas of learning & well-being to promote self-esteem. Administration Support: front office - filing, photocopying, stocktaking, archiving etc. Library support - filing books, assisting students to find books etc. Canteen to support - in providing lunch & recess Cooking helpers to assist in cooking programs Reading support Sight words Farm & Garden Grounds - keeping outside tidy

Become a volunteer with your local Department for Child Protection & you could experience one of the most rewarding things to do for yourself & also for the children and young people you will assist and support. Driving a child or young person to a health appointment or singing lesson, shopping for a new bike or pair of boots, playing netball, football or other sports, doing artwork or music are some of the things you may assist with whilst using a government vehicle. No qualification needed.

As a Local Coordinator, you will provide additional support to a High School Exchange student from overseas who is living with a host family and attending High School in your local community. A Local Coordinator must live within 2 hours of where a student is living. If you are interested in other cultures, young people and families, this role is perfect for you. You may have been an exchange student or host family yourself - but that is not a requirement.

Host Families make a difference in the world! Being a host family means opening your home, hearts and minds to a young person in High School from overseas. Our host families are open-minded, flexible, tolerant and have a sense of humour. They are keen to learn about another country and culture and share their own lives and experiences with their student. Host Families are welcome from all across Australia - from the city to the country - from the bush to the beach!
