The native plant seed orchard aims to grow seed for revegetation on the farm site and to share knowledge and skills to be able to increase involvement of community members and make revegetation more accessible to community from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. in summer volunteers will collect and manage grassland seeds, in winter volunteers will be part of revegetation projects, in autumn volunteers will support the building and set-up of the native seed orchard.

Whittlesea Food Collective demonstration garden was developed to produce food to contribute to the Emergency Relief program and to engage the local community, schools and other groups in gardening activities. This role has been established to assist with establishing and maintaining the Food Collective Demonstration Garden.

The Settlement team provide support to clients who have arrived to Australia in the past five years. This program supports the integration of settlement students into mainstream education systems. Whittlesea Community Connections is a Child Safe organisation and all volunteers are required to undergo a Working with Children Check and a Police Check.

Wood work class is a program of Mernda Community House/ Learn Local. It is an activity that runs each Friday during school terms where people can come together to learn how to use tools, make or repair things made of or using wood, get involved in small construction projects and build their confidence to attend to home maintenance. It is an inclusive and safe space where people can explore and build their skills and interest in wood work.

Whittlesea Food Collective is a central point of donation and collection of food supplies for the community. The WFC Driver will be responsible in picking up and delivering food and supplies to community members in need.
