Whittlesea Food Collective demonstration garden was developed to produce food to contribute to the Emergency Relief program and to engage the local community, schools and other groups in gardening activities. This role has been established to assist with establishing and maintaining the Food Collective Demonstration Garden.

The Youth Advocacy Group provides an overview of actions in support of young people residing in the City of Whittlesea. The group is youth-led and leads a range of topics pertaining to youth and advocates for issues to be addressed. This opportunity gives young people autonomy and leadership to voice and work towards the changes they’d like to see in their communities.

Mernda Repair Café is the first community Repair Program for the community of Whittlesea hosted at the Mernda Community House and outdoor community space. It is a free, inclusive and cross cultural community event that offers repairs of personal items by volunteer Repairers. Be an Eco Warrior and help the community to reduce waste going to landfill. To assist with the sharpening of tools that a community member has brought in and to share your knowledge of knife sharpening.

The reception falls under the Community Support Program, assisting community members with personal and practical support for a range of issues including housing, family violence, financial assistance, advocacy etc. The aim of the reception is to maintain the connection with community, providing face to face information and referral to the Contact Centre.
