The volunteers will carry out a range of activities designed to support patients and their visitors during their stay at the hospital. A short visit can make an older person’s day. We are seeking a volunteer visitors to befriend older people around Melbourne. All you need is to be kind, empathetic and willing to give one hour per fortnight (or more if you'd prefer). The role is rewarding, flexible and will help to improve the wellbeing of people experiencing social isolation.

We are looking for volunteers to welcome patients at our main entrance lobby and in our Level 3 lobby. Volunteers will be the friendly, welcoming face of our hospital and provide information and directions to various outpatient clinics and departments. You may also assist patients to use the Q-Flow kiosk to register their attendance for appointments.

A General Front of House Volunteer will be required to meet, greet and give directions or escort if required, visitors and patients to their destination in the hospital. You will at times be required to approach and assist people who may be unsure of where they are going. Other duties include assisting with transport enquiries and general tidying of reception area.

Meet and Greet Volunteers provide patients with directions on how to find services within the hospital and escort the patients to the area they need to go if necessary. Volunteers must have a friendly disposition, good communication skills, desire to help others and be fit and active enough to be able to push patients in a wheelchair.
