The Justice Advocacy Service (JAS) is currently looking for Volunteers to assist clients with Cognitive Impairment who are in contact with the Criminal Justice System

Our Pathfinders are RMHC WA advocates across King Edward Memorial Hospital. They support patients and visitors to the hospital and provide assistance to hospital staff, clinics and wards.

Community Visitors uphold the Human Rights of people living in supported care. They visit accommodation facilities and monitor and report on the adequacy of services provided. This role is ideally suited to individuals who are able to visit during day-time hours or late afternoons and who can make a commitment of two years. Training will be provided to support you in the role.

The Program supports participants to engage in volunteering as a pathway to employment.

CAWS Together We Can have several participants with mild intellectual or psychosocial/mental health disabilities in various locations throughout Western Sydney who would love to go on walks with other people and maybe go for a coffee afterwards. Some of them have trouble going on public transport alone so could benefit from someone to go on the train or bus with them or from a lift (we can reimburse your travel, 80c per kilometre).

Our Dinner Squad provide assistance to our Nedlands House during the busy dinner time period.

Community Visitors visit Victorian accommodation facilities for people with disability or mental illness in their local area. They monitor and report on the adequacy of the services provided and, where possible, communicate with residents or patients to ensure they are being treated with dignity and respect. Community Visitors are Victorian Governor in Council appointees, are appointed for a three-year term, and have significant powers of entry and inspection.

We are seeking Volunteer to assist with program facilitation at Acacia Correctional Centre, Wooroloo, including Keeping Us Together, Storytime, Play Together, Stay Together, as well as assist in supporting intake assessments and administration.

Baptcare is seeking volunteers in the Macedon Ranges region to work with young families. This service matches volunteers with parenting experience, with families needing a little extra support to raise pre-school aged children. This role requires ongoing weekly contact for 1- 2 hours.

Provide postnatal support to new mothers who may be living regionally without the support of family and close friends. Provide care for mothers who may have experienced loss/grief. Company, food shop, dishes, load of washing, cooked meal, babysit so that mum can eat, sleep or have a shower. Help to coordinate and attend appointments and connect new mothers to R U OK MUM resources.
