The Volunteer Food Industry Expert will provide advice for Ignite entrepreneurs and program staff about the processes employed in the food industry to ensure and maintain high standards of food quality and safety standards and enhance their food service operations.

The Meals Program Volunteer is required from 10.00am to 2pm every Thursday to work with staff and consumers to organise and prepare a communal lunch at the Asylum Seeker Welcome Centre. The volunteer will work autonomously and ideally have experience working in a commercial kitchen. Creativity is necessary in order to create a lunch menu using food items that are available in the foodbank during that week. Your work will offer comfort to those seeking asylum in this country.

Moreton Bay Region Visitor Information Centres are located across the region at Bribie, Redcliffe, Samford, Caboolture and Woodford and are open 7 days a week from 9am - 4pm. Volunteers are the welcoming ambassadors for the centres and mostly do a 4 hour shift once a week. SisterWorks is a partner of UN Women, to deliver UN Women’ Second Chance Education pilot project in Australia. SisterWorks provides training programs to the most vulnerable women with little English of refugee and migrant backgrounds. As a Sewing Teacher, you will be working in the SisterWorks design lab, empowering women by coordinating their sewing classes and teaching new skills.
