Our Puppy Raisers look after an 8 to 10 week old puppy, in their home, for a period of 6 to 12 months This requires a degree of physical fitness, which includes being able to negotiate steps, walk 3-5km per day and frequent bending and lifting (up to 20kg).     The Volunteers primary role is to assist the participants to ride a wave! Each participant has a different disability which can either be physical, intellectual or both. Disabled Surfers Association - SA Branch assist them to enjoy the experience of surfing & ensure they stay safe & injury free in the process. A surfing background is an advantage for volunteers but not essential. However you need to be a physically fit, aged 17+ & be comfortable in the water for periods of up to 2 hours.
