    This volunteer role requires volunteers to provide a high standard of care for Seeing Eye Dogs (SED) breeding dogs in their own home as approved and agreed by SED. Volunteers are required to maintain the breeding dogs obedience, house manners, training and socialisation.     Guide and Assistance Dogs change lives. It is the independence and freedom offered by these dogs to our clients that keeps us going. Our Puppy Raisers look after an 8 to 10 week old puppy, in their home, for a period of 12 to18 months. This requires a degree of physical fitness, which includes being able to negotiate steps, walk 3 - 5km per day and frequent bending and lifting (up to 10kg).     Our Greyhound Enrichment Volunteers work at both our facilities in Seymour and Tullamarine, providing vital socialisation and enrichment activities for greyhounds housed in our kennels whilst they wait to be adopted.     The Coordinator will be required to come onsite at least twice a week to make sure that resources are stoked for the foster carers. You would be responsible for keeping the foster care shed tidy, ensuring adequate supplies are available, work with multiple persons to construct the dog resource kits and then keeping dog/cat kits maintained when the kits are returned to the refuge.
