As a HammondCare Life Story Writing Volunteer, your listening and writing skills will allow people who are living in our Residential Care Home at North Turramurra express precious aspects of their life. Your volunteer role is to capture, share, and record a person’s life stories, memories, and messages for loved ones. These biographies are then printed and presented to the Resident and/or resident’s family.

Spend time with an elderly person who would like a social visitor at our residential aged care home at Cardiff. We are looking for a caring individual who can sit and have a chat in Polish, reminisce, and talk about topics of interest with an elderly person living with dementia. Ideally, you will be able to speak Polish conversationally.

We have a male client in Ormond who loves to chat about ideas, books, music and national and international affairs. Our Client is well read and loves listening to music, and he would love to spend an hour a fortnight with a volunteer with whom he can chat over a coffee or a gentle walk. If you are able to commit to weekly or fortnightly visits (weekends are fine), and can easily visit Ormond, please express interest below!!

Currently we have a male client in Caulfield North who has many interests including gardening, walking around gardens, playing chess, pottery work, and chatting about his life. Our client would enjoy the company of a caring, reliable and empathetic volunteer with good communication skills and an ability to commit to weekly or fortnightly visits.

The Volunteer Visitor will provide friendship and companionship through regular one-on-one/or group visits to older people residing in Australian Government Residential Aged Care Facilities and/or one-on-one visits to recipients of Footprints Community Home Care Packages (HCP) who are socially isolated or at risk of social isolation.
