We have many Greek residents who are very isolated. You can make a difference to someone's life and your own. We have two lovely ladies in need of companionship at an aged care facility in Burwood and in her own home in Croydon. Do you have experience with Dementia? Do you enjoy spending time with the elderly? The resident at the aged care home would love to have a companion to talk to, hand massages and listen to music. She is bedbound and lonely. The other lady lives in her own home and is very lonely. She is 92 and would love to chat over a cuppa.
We are currently looking for Greek speaking volunteers for aged care facilities in Clayton and Oakleigh. These residents are socially and culturally isolated and would benefit greatly from regular contact by a visitor/friend. Regular contacts or visits have a positive impact in reducing social isolation and improving the well-being of the resident.
