Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. are seeking volunteers who can assist within their Wellness and Lifestyle Program at Onkaparinga Lodge Residential Care, located in Huntfield Heights. Volunteers are needed for week days, during the hours of 9.30 am and 3 pm. An older gentleman living in a residential aged care home in Rockdale would like a volunteer (preferably who identifies as LGBTQI) to visit him for around an hour on a weekly or fortnightly basis. He worked as a lawyer and is quite a reserved English man. He would like you to be interested in talking and perhaps playing board games.

An older woman living in her own home in Surry Hills would like a volunteer to visit her for around an hour on a weekly or fortnightly basis. She would like you to be interested in reggae music, going to the movies and outings to the park or beach. Volunteering under the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme you will make a difference in the life of an older person by helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation improve their overall wellbeing.
