Fresh Start is a not-for-profit addiction and substance use disorder recovery program that is looking for 4 volunteers to help with food distribution (wait staff) at the End of Financial Year Fundraising Event “Raising for Recovery”. This event is to raise funds so Fresh Start can continue their work in supporting thousands of people and families in their addiction recovery journey and create awareness and a platform for advocacy.

This organisation has evolved over the years and is representing the Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) sector as a peak body in the state.

Are you a woman residing independently in metro, regional, or rural NSW and aged over 50? Do you have a spare room available in your home or secure space on your property? Can you provide support to another woman, possibly with children or a pet, in need of a safe place for a short period? If so, you may qualify to become a registered Nurture Carer with The Equanimity Project

St Brendans provides 2 course hot lunch and shower facilities to the homeless every Friday at the Guide Hall, Watts Road Safety Bay from 11am-2pm. Volunteers can help set-up and prepare meals from 9.30am-11.30am or serve and pack-up from 11.30am-1.30pm.

Maroondah Winter Shelter provides a safe and warm place for homeless males to stay overnight during the winter months, 7 nights per week. Home cooked meals are provided. As a volunteer you would be making a difference to the lives of those who have been sleeping rough. Being able to listen, show care and treat our guests with dignity and compassion is what we ask for.

Can you help to heat up meals, serve meals or do dishes? Chat with guests and share a meal with them. Our guests are isolated or financially disadvantaged people who need some extra support with meals and being with community.

We are a growing not-for-profit organisation that provides haircuts, free of charge and free of judgement, to Australians experiencing homelessness and poverty. A haircut may seem small, but it can have a positive impact on a person's self-esteem and wellbeing. It could be the confidence boost someone needs to apply for accommodation or for a job. Our aim is to give 15,000 free haircuts and positive community connections per year by 2025. That’s where you come in.
