The purpose of our Home Visit service is to reduce the social isolation of our clients who may be feeling disconnected from their community. A Day Centre providing social activities and and contact for older people who have intellectual, physical and psychiatric disabilities requires volunteers to offer companionship to the consumers and assist with various activities.

As you may imagine the lock down was a lonely time, so we have created some new volunteer roles to help reduce social isolation and help the elderly who live independently to reconnect back into the community.

To bring joy and social connection to an older person by visiting them in their own homes - in and around the Inner West. You can go for a short walk together, go to a cafe'. Approximately an hour a fortnight or weekly at a time to suit both of you.

Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. are seeking volunteers who can assist within their Wellness and Lifestyle Program at Onkaparinga Lodge Residential Care, located in Huntfield Heights. Volunteers are needed for week days, during the hours of 9.30 am and 3 pm. Appreciation is given to the commitment and support volunteers provide & Southern Cross Care (SCC) work with each one to arrange the most suitable days and times. Any time given is valuable!
