Marine Rescue NSW saves lives on the water, providing 24-hour emergency response, returning thousands of boaters in trouble safely to shore every year. Every unit requires a support crew. Become a member of our fundraising team and play an essential role in the day to day operations of our unit.

General training is once a fortnight which involves everything needed to know on search, rescue to enhance skills. Native wildlife needs your help. Rescue sick and injured birds, possums, lizards, turtles and frogs, and transport them to a vet for urgent assessment and treatment.

When a natural disaster strikes or an emergency situation arises, DFES’s State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers can be found providing a wide range of volunteer services to help the community cope from the impact a disaster. This involves providing emergency repairs on buildings, to restoration of essential services and ferrying cargo and passengers across flood waters. Helping the community to recover by responding to natural disasters is only part of SES’ responsibility.

As an SES volunteer you will be trained to assist in the Ops and Comm's centre to cope with natural disasters including storm, floods and land searches.
