MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Peer Support Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a peer support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion.

Cairns Toy Library (just like a book library but for toys) is looking for someone to help us to keep our lawn area neat and tidy - mowing, edges and general tidy up services required. Volunteers are required to support the work of this small facility providing hostel accommodation for the elderly people and catering for the individual. The aim of the volunteer program is to maintain community contact, to foster friendships and to increase opportunities for the residents.

Chorus volunteers work alongside team members, seniors, those living with disability or on the mental health recovery journey. Many customers are socially isolated and volunteering your time helps people connect in the community. When you volunteer you can meet like-minded people, form new friendships, challenge yourself, learn new skills and make a huge difference.

Easy Care Gardening is an Aged Care provider. We are seeking active and enthusiastic people to join our volunteer gardening teams. Our volunteer teams look after our clients' gardens, making them safe, tidy and enjoyable. We weed prune and mulch home gardens to make them low maintenance, to make things easier for the client between our visits. We are a friendly group and always stop for a "cuppa" which we share with the client.
