The homestead was built between 1862 and 1880 for John Maley (King of the Greenough Flats), miller, storekeeper, hotel proprietor, entrepreneur and father of 14 children. We need volunteers to assist our Collection Manager with the on-going preservation of the Cairns’ important Chinese heritage which includes unique artefacts from the nationally significant Cairns Lit Sung Goong Temple Collection.

Live on-site at the Women's Museum of Australia within the secure walls of the heritage-listed Old Alice Springs Gaol! You must have own caravan, (max 2.9m in height) with own shower and toilet. In exchange, we ask for 6 hours on a Saturday and 6 hours on a Sunday and a few hours per week of general light maintenance duties and roster cover when needed with two days per week off, usually Tuesday and Wednesday.

An onsite painter is needed at Albany's Historic Whaling Station. You may also work in the wildlife park, and you will assist the onsite maintenance team. 5 hours one day a week is required, and you will be paid $40 for your fuel costs. Onsite OH&S Training will be conducted.
