The Volunteers Hub at Diamond Valley Community Support is advertising this volunteer role on behalf of Lower Plenty Dance Group, a small not-for-profit volunteer organization running live and online weekly dance for people with intellectual disabilities. The Committee meets every second month on the 3rd Thursday for approx 2 hours to manage the dance group affairs.

We are a community-based disability service administered by a volunteer Management Committee composed mainly of family members/advocates of people with a disability. We are looking for volunteers to join our management committee.

Community Visitors uphold the Human Rights of people living in supported care. They visit accommodation facilities and monitor and report on the adequacy of services provided. This role is ideally suited to individuals who are able to visit during day-time hours or late afternoons and who can make a commitment of two years. Training will be provided to support you in the role.

Abbeyfield Garran is a not for profit which provides affordable, inclusive, homelike and safe accommodation for people with a mild cognitive disability where residents can maintain their independence with dignity and choice. The Garran house is run by a volunteer management committee and employs a housekeeper to provide meals and support the residents on a day- to-day basis. We have 10 young adult residents.
