Way Finding Volunteers help families navigate their way around the Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH).Everyday QCH sees more than 1000 families come through the doors and the Way Finders are often the first point of contact for worried and often hurried parents, offering a welcoming smile and a gentle guiding hand.

Inpatient Orientation volunteers provide caregivers with knowledge and support for their hospital stay. It can be overwhelming as a caregiver of an inpatient dealing with the stress of a sick and injured child. As a Inpatient Orientation volunteer you will be able to ease the stress by informing caregivers of services and support networks available to make their stay as supported as possible.

As an Operating Theatre Recovery volunteer, you will work closely with staff to support the post-anaesthetic care of patients by providing comfort, as well as reconnecting and regulating caregiver visits. Volunteers also support the Queensland Children’s Hospital Recovery staff by answering the phones and maintaining comfort supplies.

SisterWorks provides training programs to the most vulnerable women with little English of refugee and migrant backgrounds. As a Sewing Teacher, you will be working in the SisterWorks design lab, empowering women by coordinating their sewing classes and teaching new skills.
