We do this through hands-on training, paid employment, and capacity building to build pathways for sustainable employment. Volunteer opportunities available with the Darebin Intercultural Centre! The Darebin English Pronunciation Program supports adults who have English as a second language, to focus on improving their communication and pronunciation. Participants work with a volunteer teacher one-on-one, enabling them to practice with language that is relevant to their lives and at an appropriate level.

Our Cadet Program runs from April to October each year. It is open to kids between the age of 12 - 16. Cadets are trained in various facets of Firefighting and other skills. Teamwork and Communication are a big part of this program and we have had many of our Cadets stay on after turning 16 to become Active Volunteer Firefighters. Cadets may also have the opportunity to go on Camps run by the Brigade, DFES also give Cadets opportunities to go on camps.
